The Career Center offers individual counseling and a variety of inventories to Hanover students free-of-charge to assist you in selecting a career. We offer:
The Strong Interest Inventory (SII): The SII measures your interests and helps you to identify career options that would match you well. It also provides a college report that enables you to apply its results to considering a major, and suggests extracurricular activities and internships that would fit your interests. Time estimate: 30-45 minutes to take, one hour to interpret.
Myers-Briggs Type Indicator (MBTI): The MBTI identifies your preferences on four different scales including what energizes you, the way you process information, the way you make decisions, and the way in which you deal with the outer world. Your preferences will have an impact on the types of careers you would find most natural and satisfying. Time estimate: 30 minute to take, 1 hour to interpret.
A values card sort to help you identify the work characteristics that are most important to you, whether they be variety, independence, the chance to make a difference, prestige, etc.
