Four Year Plan
First Year: Orientation
Help is available at the Career Center:
- Begin to develop a sense of what you would like your purpose in life to be. If you'd like help, ask us for Career Guidance.
- Join and participate in clubs that interest you. Pay attention to your response to these activities.
- During Winter Term, locate a summer job; remember to log on to our job board, NACElink, to search for a position. The Career Center will help you search, too.
- No matter what job you land, ask for the chance to develop additional skills once you have completed your assigned tasks. At the end of the summer, evaluate why you liked or disliked the job.
- Learn about our semester-long internship programs, open to juniors and seniors.
Additional Steps to Take:
- Study! Seek help from and get to know professors beyond the course.
- No matter what job you do, be sure to practice your professionalism. Treat each job as if it matters!
- Gain experience in a career field that interests you.
- Look for internships on our job board, NACElink.
- Explore your academic interests through LADRs and introductory courses.
- Develop long-term intellectual skills in critical thinking, writing, public speaking, analysis and research.
- Begin plans to study abroad.
- Find a campus job.
- Volunteer on- and/or off-campus; join Emerging Leaders.
