Career Center: What is your current employment and how did you acquire it? What struggles and unknown hardships did you encounter as a recent graduate?
"The unknown hardships are that if you do not have money it is okay to live at home for awhile and if you do not have a job right away.......then just find a nice part-time job and do not worry about anything. Eventually it will all work out and you will find that job and see where that career takes you. Also, save money for furniture, because you will eventually need some when you get your own place." How did the Career Center help you in your job search?
"The Career Center assisted in helping me with finding what career would suit me and they helped me realize what truly made me happy in a job. That was helping others and helping them realize their potential. At the end of the day I walk out of here knowing that I tried to help or in fact I did help students get another chance at life through education. So I thank the Career Center for helping me with all the meetings they had with me and all of the time they took to help me realize my potential." Do you have any words of wisdom or advice to share with Hanover students?
"I just want the students to know that student services is there to help and not push you in a direction you should not be going. Also, take life by the horns and go where you want to go in life. If you want to work overseas....Search and search and do yourself justice and make yourself happy by finding a job abroad. Do not be afraid to write your own path and move away and see a different side of the country or in some cases the world. Weigh options and make sure that you know everything about all your options so that you can give each opportunity a fair chance. Finally, when you get that job, budget yourself and your finances. I did that and it changes everything and you feel better about your financial situation. Thank you Hanover for all the help you gave me over the past 4 years!" |
