Professional Competency
PROFESSIONAL COMPETENCY - Gain some experience over Break:
Experience - volunteer, internship, job shadowing, or work - is critical to your success in landing a job after college. Use your time off over Christmas Break to get some experience in your field of interest. Volunteer your time (and build your network while clarifying your goals) at an organization of interest to you; start looking at internship opportunities that will help you meet your career goals; job shadow at an employer in the field you hope to enter (and clarify your sense of purpose while gaining insight into that career and/or organization), or start your summer or post-graduation job search while you are home. Using your time off wisely will help you get ahead of the "Spring Rush" for jobs and internships.
